Waterford writer/artist publishes first in a series of books


When Amy Good recently became an author, it was a return to her first love.

Her first novel, “Claiming the Coldflame,” is a fantasy story, but the reality is that it’s only the beginning of one of two books series she’s developing.

Born in Detroit, Good graduated from Schoolcraft College in 2012 with an associate’s degree in fine art, then enrolled in College for Creative Studies in Detroit, majoring in illustration. But then she turned her attention to writing. Although she wrote often as a child, the switch wasn’t easy in the beginning.
