Try out BMX biking during free event at Waterford Oaks County Park

Take a spin on the BMX track at Waterford Oaks County Park during Try BMX for Free Day from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, May 16.

During this special event, sponsored by Magic BMX, there will be no charge for admission, bike rentals, helmet rentals or track time. Participants are welcome to bring their own peg-free bike and/or a full-faced helmet if they have them.

All ages are welcome. Strider bikes are available for riders ages 2-5. Participants need to wear a long-sleeved shirt, pants and closed-toe shoes (no Crocs).

BMX biking is an activity that continues to grow in popularity and is a great way to stay active. Riders of all ages use manual power to maneuver a pedal bike over jumps, banked corners and other obstacles.

Waterford Oaks County Park has been home to the BMX track for 41 years, making it one of the oldest in the country.

Another Try BMX for Free Day is scheduled from 2-5 p.m. June 13. Waterford Oaks County Park is located at 1702 Scott Lake Road in Waterford. The BMX track is located behind Waterford Oaks Waterpark.
