Walled Lake Schools Adds to Therapy Dog Program

Excerpt: Thanks to two donations totaling $10,000, Glengary, Walled Lake and Meadowbrook elementary schools in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District will soon have their own therapy dogs.

Walled Lake is the first Oakland County school district to have a therapy dog program for social emotional support of its students, and two generous donations – $2,500 from The Charlie McVey Fund and $7,500 from the Lakes Area Rotary Club – to the program have allowed it to expand. Brook (Meadowbrook Elementary), Wallee (Walled Lake Elementary), and Romeo (Glengary Elementary) will be joining their schools in the fall of 2021.
