Nature center gets outdoorsman’s collection

The Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center in Troy received a 61-piece outdoorsman collection as a donation.


There are whitetail deer from the Upper Peninsula and an antelope from Wyoming.

There are black and gray squirrels, turkeys, ducks — of all varieties — and walleye caught on an ice-fishing excursion in Ontario.

Edward Polek had just about everything he hunted or fished mounted — and now most of it is on display at the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center in Troy thanks to a 61-piece donation from the outdoorsman’s sons last month. The collection was appraised at more than $15,000, a museum official said.
