LTU, film school sign agreement

Students at the Motion Picture Institute in Troy will now be able to transfer more credits to Lawrence Tech University’s bachelor’s degree program in media communication, thanks to a new agreement.  It’s the latest of several recent ventures dedicated to educating students for Michigan’s emerging film industry.

Excerpt:

Under the agreement, MPI students who have successfully completed the film production program at MPI can transfer up to 21 credits toward a bachelor’s degree in media communication at Lawrence Tech. These transfer students will take courses in the College of Arts and Sciences to fulfill the general education requirements for a bachelor’s degree at Lawrence Tech.

“This collaboration with the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan adds another dimension to our dynamic degree program that is helping to meet the increased demand of the motion picture industry in Michigan,” Lawrence Tech President Lewis Walker said. “This provides a good way for students who have gained technical training in this field to complete a bachelor’s degree.”
