Robotics Engineering program debuts at LTU

This fall, Lawrence Technological University will offer Michigan’s first undergraduate program in robotics engineering.

Intended to merge mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and
computer science with robotics, the curriculum will include hands-on
activities allowing students to utilize material learned within the
course.

Robotics engineering is a growing field with employment opportunities in
a vast amount of industries. Lawrence Tech’s program is believed to be
the first of its kind in the state, and only the second in the nation.

“Robotics has grown to be a primary engineering field in its own right,
and with the growing demand for qualified robotics engineers in the
related careers, this interdisciplinary degree ensures graduates are
provided the tools required for success,” said assistant professor and
director of the new program, Giscard Kfoury.
