Local brew master’s zeal is apparent

Southfield’s Copper Canyon Brewery brewmaster not only likes beer… he loves it.


But for the Albuquerque, N.M., native, beer is more than an enjoyment. It’s a labor of love.

started home-brewing beer as a student at Boston University, where he
studied marine biology. “We made five-gallon batches for our own use,”
he said.

Somewhat to his surprise, Parker found that he liked making beer, “and I was good at it.”

he continued making beer while pursuing a master’s degree (also in
marine biology) at California State University at Fullerton.
