DJS Comm wins four IABC awards for eMO Communications

DJS Communications, an independently owned corporate communications group, was a multiple award-winner in the 31st annual Renaissance Awards, sponsored by the Detroit chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in June, for its work on behalf of Tata Technologies for the introduction of the company’s eMO EV concept study at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, in January 2012.

The DJS Communications effort to introduce the eMO to the world’s automotive press garnered four awards, including the prestigious President’s Award for “Best in Show” among all communication management entries. Considered the pre-eminent awards competition for business communicators, the Renaissance Awards attracts entrants from companies of all sizes and in all industries.

In addition to the President’s Award, DJS Communications was also honored in the categories of Brand Communications, for its overall presentation at the NAIAS, Media Relations for its special press preview event and media management following the NAIAS, and for Multi-Audience Communications for a series of video reports from the NAIAS that appeared on the company Intranet to keep employees worldwide updated regarding news from the event throughout the media days at the NAIAS.

“The goal of eMO and the communications surrounding it was to spread the word about Tata Technologies’ capabilities to develop complete vehicles to the world’s automotive press, to the company’s employees and to their potential customers,” said Dan Saad, Partner and Editorial Director – DJS Communications. “Thanks to a great team effort – and to the outstanding quality of the Tata Technologies eMO study – we succeeded.”

“An outstanding campaign,” noted one of the IABC judges, “You were very clear in your goals and you reached them.”

“Good use of communication planning and execution on a limited budget,” another judge said.

The Blue Ribbon Panel of judges responsible for the President’s Award for “Best of Show” said, “What made this entry rise to the top was the impressive team effort by this group. With limited budget and resources, they cut through the clutter of a major auto show to earn attention and recognition for their client.”
