Oakland County wins inaugural “Best E-Newsletter” award for Prosper

The Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) has bestowed on Oakland County its inaugural “Best E-Newsletter” award for Prosper, published by the Economic Development & Community Affairs Department, which features news about innovative businesses, thriving communities, cultural opportunities and the county’s skilled work force.

Oakland County also garnered the “Best Printed Material” award for its print brochure, “Innovation at Your Fingertips: Oakland County Medical Main Street” from MEDA in its 5th annual Marketing Materials Competition. The brochure promotes Medical Main Street, a unique alliance of world-class hospitals, universities, medical device and BioPharma companies joined together to create a global center of the life sciences industry in Oakland County.

“Oakland County has a reputation for excellence in government,” said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. “Through Prosper and our other marketing materials, we let people know Oakland County is among the best places to live, work, play and raise a family.”

The MEDA awards were grouped by the size of the community served by the economic development organization. Oakland County vied in the “population 500,001 and over” category. Each submission competed on the basis of creativity, content and branding.

“My marketing staff works diligently to publish cutting-edge materials that let the world know that Oakland County is a top destination for business, education, and entertainment, among others. I’m very proud of them,” said Maureen Krauss, director of Economic Development & Community Affairs.
