Chevy gives much needed sponsorship boost to Dream Cruise

The Woodward Dream Cruise will roll on this summer, thanks to a
presenting sponsorship pledge from Chevrolet, worth $1 million over a
three-year period.

The 2011 Dream Cruise will be held Aug. 20. It’s the world’s largest
one-day automotive event and draws about 1.5 million spectators and
50,000 cars to the famed avenue.

The partnership comes on Chevrolet’s 100th anniversary. The brand will
showcase its past, present and future during the event with historic
Chevrolets driven by fans, employees and retirees; a showcase of current
models; and a chance to see future Chevys.

“Chevrolet and the Woodward Dream Cruise are a natural partnership,”
Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing, said in a
statement. “Chevrolet, as a global brand, is celebrating its centennial
with locally focused events that recognize the passion people have for
their Chevrolets.
