Purple Heart Trail Now on Village, M-15

Excerpt: It’s official — the Purple Heart Trail is open. In late June, the Michigan Department of Transportation installed two five-feet-by-two-feet signs at the north and south entrance to the village designating the mile-long section of M-15.

“It’s the Purple Heart Trail Memorial Highway, and it starts at George Washington’s home, Virginia, and it goes all across the United States, and it’s to commemorate and honor all the Purple Heart veterans, and in our community we have 75 Purple Heart veterans dating back as far as the Civil War,” said Dennis Hoffman, VFW Post 582 commander.
