Create a bird habitat in your own backyard

Oakland County is known for its magnificent assortment of wild birds in the spring and summer. Now, you can create a habitat for bird-watching in the backyard of your own home.

Tim Nowicki, naturalist for Oakland County Parks, will lead you through the steps necessary to make your backyard a retreat for resident and migrant birds. You will learn some basic steps to developing a backyard habitat that will add new dimensions of color and activity when birds visit. Tim will also offer ideas on bird watching equipment, books and resources. Bring your binoculars and practice watching birds around the farm under Tim’s watchful eye.

Class will be held at MSU Extension Tollgate Education Center, 28115 Meadowbrook Rd, Novi, MI, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The cost is $20 per person.
