Great West Bloomfield Chamber seeks nominations for ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award

Seeking to recognize the area’s best and brightest minds, the Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its 2ndannual “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award. The accolade will once again honor an up and coming professional, between the ages of 18 and 35, who has exhibited excellence in business and commitment to community. The nominee must work or live in greater West Bloomfield, which also encompasses Keego Harbor, Sylvan Lake and Orchard Lake.

Young Entrepreneur Award nominations must be 250 words or less and e-mailed to by April 24. The winner will be officially awarded at the annual Chamber Awards Dinner on Tuesday, May 18 at Shenandoah Conference Center in West Bloomfield.

“We want to celebrate the young entrepreneurs in the area who see a down economy as an opportunity, not as a challenge,” said Steven Tapper, event committee chair. “Our winner will have demonstrated business savvy and success and a desire to continuously improve the Greater West Bloomfield area.”

Themed, “The Future is Ours — Moving Forward 2010,” this year’s West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner will also honor Johnny Karmo from Market Square as “Business Person of the Year,” Seven restaurant as “Cool Business of the Year” and Credit Union ONE as “New Business of the Year.”
