A fledgling trade group for state aerospace parts manufacturers wants
to become a pipeline that in three years will source $100 million in
aerospace industry purchase orders to Michigan manufacturers that have
traditionally served the auto industry.
Gavin Brown, executive director of the Michigan Aerospace Manufacturers Association,
or MAMA, says the organization is focused primarily on assisting auto
suppliers in transition to supply the $209 billion aerospace industry,
which is anticipating growth of 8-10 percent over the next 10 years.
