Chuck Fortinberry describes being in a state of shock when he got the
call last year that his Chrysler Jeep dealership in Clarkston — a
five-star, top-rated, highly profitable 24-year-old business — was being
closed as the automaker went through bankruptcy.
His son, Lane
Fortinberry, described the loss in stronger terms.
“It was like a
death in the family,” said Lane, who worked at the dealership. “There
was that feeling of helplessness and just why — it was that terrible
sinking feeling in your stomach.”
