A bike race and showcase display, all featuring track bicycles constructed at least a decade ago, will be on hand at the Third Annual BMX Vintage Bike Show at Waterford Oaks on Saturday, Sept. 10 from noon to 4 p.m.
“Patrons will see bikes from the early years of BMX up to today’s hi-performance race equipment. Lots of memorabilia on display as well,” Chris Beer, vice president of Waterford Oaks BMX Volunteer Association, said. “Swap stories from the past, reunite with old friends or make new ones.”
Riders are encouraged to bring their own vintage bicycles to participate in the race, which takes place at the Waterford Oaks BMX track. Entry is free for spectators and $5/person to ride the track. Food concession stands will be open. USA BMX membership is required to race and can be obtained at the event.
Waterford Oaks BMX Track is located at 1702 Scott Lake Road in Waterford. In the event of rain, the bike show will be held indoors at the Waterford Oaks Activity Center at 2800 Watkins Lake Road in Waterford.
