South Lyon doled out awards and scholarships to local students.
Chen, a South Lyon High School senior, has been involved with numerous service projects throughout her high school career, and most recently was the lieutenant governor for division 11 of the Key Club. Key Club is a student-led organization that teaches leadership by helping others.
“I really enjoyed telling other people what Key Club is all about and getting more people to volunteer,” she said. “It’s a good feeling.”

The Lyon Area Rotary Club also gave out two $250 scholarships to Raven Rebb and Doohak Kim. Rebb has logged more than 400 volunteer hours in her high school career, while Kim was a major player in raising funds for the Jacob Michael Davis Foundation among others.
