St. John’s Armenian Church in Southfield rich in faith and tradition

Each day, thousands of motorists pass the landmark church at the
convergence of the Southfield and Northwestern highways in the heart of
Southfield.

Few probably can identify the edifice or appreciate its historic and cultural significance.

The
intriguing round building with the gold roof is the home of St. John’s
Armenian Church, the only Michigan location for a congregation of the
Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church.

Although
not widely known in the greater community, St. John’s prides itself on
being a living representation of the Armenian Orthodox faith in the
United States and a local center of a proud culture and its people.
