Oakland County parks offers adaptive golf

OAKLAND COUNTY —

Adaptive golf lessons, clinics and course play will be offered throughout the summer at White Lake Oaks Golf Course, Carl’s Golfland and Southfield Beechwood Community Center.

“The program is designed to meet the needs of anyone with a disability or who may be trying to get back into golf following an injury, stroke or surgery,” Sandy Dorey, recreation supervisor – therapeutics & adaptive recreation, said.

Golf lessons at Southfield Beechwood will be held on Mondays from
5 — 6 p.m. in May, June and July. Cost $12/lesson. A clinic at Carl’s Golfland is scheduled on June 26. from 2 – 5 p.m.

Adaptive course play at White Lake Oaks Golf Course is set for Tuesdays at 10:45 a.m. on June 9, 16, 23 & 30; and July 7, 14, 21 & 28. Cost is $15/week
or $100/season for Oakland County residents; $20/week or $140/season for
non-residents.

 White Lake Oaks Golf Course is located at 991 Williams Lake Road in White Lake. Carl’s Golfland is located at 1976 Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Hills. Southfield Beechwood Community Center is located at 22200 Beech in Southfield.
