Oakland County Parks hosts the Michigan Construction Career Days April 27 – 28 at Springfield Oaks County Park.
Michigan Construction Career Days provides information on construction as a potential career for middle school and high school students from across Michigan. Students also have an opportunity to use real tools, materials and heavy equipment under the direct guidance of construction professionals from all sectors of the industry.
“This event gives students a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience; provides an opportunity to see how equipment operates; and hear about the different career paths in the construction industry,” Jim Dunleavy, chief of parks operations and maintenance, said.
Schools can register online at www.MichiganCCD.org. Enrollment is limited.
Event sponsors include Oakland County Parks, Oakland Community College and the Oakland County Fair Association.
Springfield Oaks County Park is located at 12451 Andersonville Road in Davisburg.
On Aug. 3, 2010, Oakland County voters will be asked to vote on the renewal of a 10-year millage of .2415 for the purpose of operating, maintaining, improving and acquiring parks and recreation areas and facilities in Oakland County.
