Oakland County parks announces platform tennis open houses

The Waterford Oaks Paddle Club welcomes newcomers to stop by a platform tennis open house as an introduction to the sport at Waterford Oaks County Park.

Platform tennis, a mix of tennis and racquetball, is played outdoors on two lighted, heated courts October through May.

“Open houses provide insight on how to play and a chance to learn about the Waterford Oaks Paddle Club,” Jay Reynolds, club coordinator, said. “We’ll get people out on the courts and give them a chance to play.”

Enthusiasts can try the sport at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14 or Tuesday, October 20. Platform tennis instruction and equipment will be provided.
The Waterford Oaks Paddle Club organizes mixers, league and inter-club play. Members are allowed unlimited court use based on availability.

Waterford Oaks County Park is located at 1702 Scott Lake Road in Waterford.
