Local celebrities will be hitting the high notes (or at least trying to) on Nov. 11 as they “Sing Out 4 Kids” to raise funds for the Children’s Charities Coalition comprised of CARE House, The Community House, Orchards Children’s Services and Variety the Children’s Charity.
Karen Newman, voice of the Detroit Red Wings, will emcee the event as local celebs and popular community members such as Huel Perkins, Jon Jordan, Henry Baskin, Denise Ilitch and many more take the over the stage (and the microphone) at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle in Royal Oak to perform their favorite tunes.
“This is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch your favorite local celebrities sing a song for a great cause,” said Pamela Ayres, Director of Development for Orchards Children’s Services. “Not only will it be tons of fun, but the funds raised will support thousands of children right here in metro Detroit.”
In addition to sure-to-entertain performances by Metro Detroit’s favorite personalities, the event will include dinner (fun, light-hearted fare such as hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and pop) and a silent auction featuring one-of-a kind items like tickets to the American Idol Top 10 Tour with backstage passes, a Zamboni ride with tickets to a Detroit Red Wings game and premium concert tickets for a Karen Newman performance. And, once the initial performances are complete, audience members will have the opportunity to sing themselves, pay for someone else to sing a song of their choosing or, pay not to sing if nominated. All proceeds will benefit local children.
Tickets to “Sing Out 4 Kids” on Nov. 11 at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle located at 269 East Fourth Street in Royal Oak are still available. The fun will begin with dinner and a silent auction at 6 p.m. followed by the karaoke show at 7:15 p.m. General admission tickets (which include dinner) are $50 each. Reserved seating is $100. $750 will reserve a table for 10. To purchase, or for more information, please call 248.644.5832 or e-mail email@example.com.
