The wave of the future might start in Oakland County with the Judge-On-Line program.
Oakland County Circuit Court has come up with a new way to reduce crowded dockets and help folks keep their attorney fees down — it’s called Judge-On-Line.
And it may soon revolutionize how law is practiced in Oakland County and elsewhere.
Starting Friday, all 19 judges on the bench will be wired for the program. For a $30 fee, an attorney or person representing themselves can argue their case from anywhere in the world. It is expected to be particularly helpful for military personnel overseas.
The program allows attorneys, witnesses and litigants to argue motions and testify — all while sitting in their own offices, teleconferencing with the judge.
