Proud Lake in Commerce Township, as well as Brighton, were the filming locations of a new hunting movie.
The forests at Proud Lake and Brighton state recreation areas set the
stage for a local movie crew which recently spent two days filming a
short suspense thriller, “Hunting Blind.”
“Hunting Blind” tells the story of two brothers who go hunting and
encounter a trespasser on their property, explained Carrie LeZotte,
producer and director for One of Us Films, a Detroit-based production
company. Just seven minutes long, it will be entered into major film
festivals in hopes of helping LeZotte make her way into large-scale
feature film direction.
“It’s a calling card for directors and talent that are at these global
film festivals, such as Sundance, Toronto, L.A.,” she said.
