Habitat for Humanity Oakland County’s build draws 600 volunteers

Habitat for Humanity Oakland County

‘s 2010 building blitz taking
place this week is expected to benefit from 600 corporate volunteers,
more than double the number that participated last year.

The
agency this year named three executive chairs to help promote the build
and secure volunteers: Doug Maibach, senior vice president, Barton Malow Co.; Todd Pardon, senior vice president, Redico LLC and Johnna Struck, CEO, Changing Places Moving.

In
all, over 1,000 volunteers are expected to help with construction or
rehab of five homes in Pontiac and another two in Madison Heights,
marking the first Habitat work in that city.

Hewlett-Packard is the build’s lead sponsor. Over 40 local companies also pledged support for the 2010 building blitz, including: Barton Malow, Daimler Financial Services, Nissan, Redico and Webasto Roof Systems.
