Free photo contest hosted by Oakland County Parks, all skill levels invited

Share your summer experiences, beginning July 13, with Oakland County Parks and Oakland Parks Foundation, 2nd Annual Pics of the Parks photo contest. This free contest is also sponsored by The Oakland Press.
Submitted photos must fall into the PARKS theme: Parks, Action, Recreation, Kids, Selfies. All photos must be taken within the 13 Oakland County Parks. There is no limit on the number of submissions. Photos must be submitted electronically through an inbox message to Oakland County Parks and Recreation Facebook page. File size of the photo should be a minimum of 2MB to ensure proper printing quality. The contest runs through Sept. 7.
“Pics of the Parks is a summer long celebration of the faces and places that make up Oakland County Parks,” Executive Officer Dan Stencil said. “Photos will be judged on how well that concept is portrayed. Come out, have a good time and share your experiences through photos.”
A “Best in Show” will be awarded along with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from each PARKS category.  The “Best in Show” winning photo will appear on the cover of the 2015 Oakland County Parks Annual Report. The top 50 entries, 10 from each category, will be displayed at the Somerset Collection in Troy this fall.
Contest requirements are posted on The 13 Oakland County Parks locations, special events and recreation opportunities are also available on the website. Park entry and user fees to access the parks will be required.
