A green-friendly partnership between two local companies shows that environmental stewardship and business can often share the same vision.
Auburn Hills’ Genisys Credit Union and The EGT Group, a printing company based in Madison Heights, have teamed up to produce new printed materials that are Earth-conscious and cost-effective.
EGT, which won Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification by the SmartWood program of the Rainforest Alliance in 2007, prints Genisys materials on stock that is 10% recycled and harvested from a well-managed forest. The two companies also work together to utilize green practices like materials recycling, while also choosing environmentally-friendly ink for their print jobs.
“Genisys feels it’s important to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Jackie Buchanan, Chief Executive Officer. “Being mindful of how we use our resources and minimizing waste today will make a huge difference in the lives of future generations.”
