The Womencenter at OCC will be hosting a conference to offer workshops for women seeking help during this economic downturn.
The Womencenter at Oakland Community College’s Orchard Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills will present its 16th annual “A Call to Wholeness” conference for women, Saturday, March 21.
The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the campus’ J Building. Admission is $35 and the public is invited.
Conference keynote presenter is Dr. Debra L. Hollander, chair of Behavioral Medicine at Providence Hospital. Her interactive presentation, entitled “Compassion Fatigue,” will help participants learn to care for themselves in the midst of stressful times.
In addition to the keynote presentation, the conference includes two
workshop sessions, a continental breakfast, lunch and a prize drawing.
Workshops will focus on women’s health, making life changes, self
esteem, transitions, mid-life issues, financial strategies and
organizing the home.
