Fall Star Party at Wint Nature Center

Spy the autumn skies for this season’s constellations at Wint Nature Center’s Fall Star Party. This nighttime exploration is planned for Saturday, Nov. 6 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the nature center, located within Independence Oaks County Park.

What’s on the horizon? Participants will learn how to scope out fall constellations during the STARLAB planetarium show. Kids can also make a star scope craft and enjoy a nighttime snack. Weather permitting, the Oakland Astronomy Club will also host a telescope viewing of the night’s stars.

“The sky is a powerful outdoor tool,” says park naturalist Lynn Conover. “For years people used the night sky as a timepiece, calendar and for entertainment.”

The cost is $2 per person. This event is suitable for school-age children and adults. Space is limited, so pre-registration and payment are required. To submit your registration, please call 248-625-6473. For more information about nature center programs, visit destinationoakland.com
