Groveland Oaks County Park dazzles spectators with Air Fair, a free annual event featuring remote control planes, demonstrations, gliders, kites and more on Saturday, Aug.10 from 2 – 10 p.m.
“Air Fair is a great opportunity for families to explore aeronautical activities and to sample new ways to have unique outdoor fun at an Oakland County Park,” Parks Supervisor Boyd Brokenshaw said.
Families can visit for the day or choose to spend the weekend at Groveland Oaks Campground to enjoy Air Fair. Features include: The Wind Jammers Professional Kite Team; Disc Golf demonstrations; remote-controlled airplanes; inflatable obstacle courses; Retro Games; face painting; live birds of prey program; a free craft for kids; Great Turtle Toys kites; hayride shuttles; a DJ from 3:30 – 7:30 p.m.; and music from the Tommy Steele Band at 8 p.m. Kosch Catering will offer smokehouse barbecue lunch and dinner options available for purchase.
An Oakland County Parks 2013 Annual Vehicle Permit or daily pass (available at the park) is required for park entry.
Groveland Oaks County Park is located at 14555 Dixie Highway (at Grange Hall Road) in Holly.
