Popular BBAC instructor opens new exhibit at Lawrence Street Gallery

Laura Whitesides Host, a founding member of Ferndale’s Lawrence Street
Gallery, will showcase her latest curated example of work, an exhibit
titled Nature Patterns, at the Lawrence Street Gallery this June. The exhibit opens June 1 and runs through June 25.

Host, a Birmingham resident, is a popular instructor at the Birmingham-Bloomfield Art Center.
Her latest exhibit features an array of artistic techniques; from mixed
media to watercolors, acrylics on canvas and monotypes.

“I am interested in the many patterns I observe in nature, those
occurring in vast landscapes along with those revealed in closer
examination, such as the feather patterns on birds,” she says.

Visitors can meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments at a free
opening party June 3 at the gallery from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  For more
