Bosch, a large automotive supplier that has its North American headquarters in Farmington Hills, announced it has partnered with Hunter Engineering in Missouri to collaborate on advanced driver assistance calibration systems.
With the new program, Bosch will offer technology and services, while Hunter will specialize in vehicle alignment systems, wheel and tire service, brake service, and inspection lane equipment.
The solution, designed for auto repair shop owners and dealerships across North America, will use Bosch’s experience in advanced driver assistance systems as well as Hunter’s systems to deliver the solution.
The integrated product includes a co-branded, Bosch-developed diagnostic tool, calibration fixture, and associated hardware, as well as vehicle alignment systems from Hunter.
“Bosch’s knowledge in ADAS system design adds an understanding on different driver assistance systems that’s not available on other products,” says Michael Simon, director of strategic business for Bosch’s aftermarket division. “Our technology background combined with the credibility customers expect from Hunter will deliver a calibration system that’s innovative, efficient, and accurate.”
The calibration system is designed to help technicians align safety systems quickly and accurately. The new tools will soon be available through Hunter’s distribution network; an exact timeline was not disclosed.
“Hunter is proud to collaborate with Bosch,” says Kaleb Silver, director of product management at Hunter. “This venture brings together two innovative and exciting companies, working together for the first time on important technology for cars today and into the future.”
