When Clawson residents come up with an idea to help their city, a new cross-community support system will be intact to work them through the process.
The Clawson Community Foundation was created for groups that might not have tax exemptions, but still want to find a way to help the “little city with a big heart.” The foundation supports cross-community ventures, plus provides a way for residents to give back via property or monetary donations.
Cochran said the initiative is an asset to Clawson because there is no other organization that supports cross-functional community endeavors. Cochran said the CCF will mean “having an on-the-shelf structure in place for current and future civic functions and to spur action from residents to step forward with ideas of improving life in Clawson and for that resident to take action.”
