Journey into space during International Astronomy Day

Visit the Cranbrook Institute of Science to explore the outer limits through the exciting field of Astronomy on Saturday, April 28 from 1-4pm. Join Cranbrook astronomers and the Warren Astronomical Society for hands-on telescope use, or witness the dazzling wonders of the cosmos in the New Acheson Planetarium!  This is also an excellent opportunity to see the observatory before it closes in June for renovation. Expected to re-open later this summer, the upgrades include three new telescopes, architectural changes in the viewing space, a new dome, and compatibility with the planetarium to create an experience unparalleled anywhere in the Midwest when the observatory re-opens in late summer. All International Astronomy Day events except planetarium programs are free with museum admission.
