Calling all classic car owners to polish up their chrome

The 9th annual Bloomfield Township Classic Car Show returns to Mercedes-Benz of Bloomfield Hills.  Held in conjunction with the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the family-friendly event features more than 40 classic and specialty automobiles of all makes and models.

Bloomfield Township is now seeking entries for vehicles for the show. The tax-deductible, participant registration fee is $50 through August 12, 2013.  On-site registration, if space is available, is $60. For each vehicle registered, participants receive one general event parking pass ($5 value) for the lot behind the building on the north side of the Mercedes dealership, 36700 Woodward.

In addition to show cars, the event will feature a viewing area for the Woodward Dream Cruise with official merchandise sales, DJ entertainment, food, general parking, portable restrooms and a live broadcast by 97.1 FM “The Ticket.” Admission to view the vehicles is free.

Proceeds from the event will once again support the Bloomfield Hills Optimist Club, Bloomfield Township Fire Department Charities and Bloomfield Township Police Department Benevolent Fund. The event has raised nearly $50,000 for charitable causes since its inception.
