“When Baldwin High School student Jack Gafill publicly embraced and shared his love of the theater by creating a community dramatics club in 1923, he likely had no idea that 90 years later a new generation of Birmingham Village Players would continue his dream.
‘”I am proud to be an amateur. It means love in Latin,’ said Dale Feldpausch, Birmingham Village Players board president. ‘It is a primal love of the theater.’
‘More than 100 members of the Birmingham Village Players echo the sentiments. The growth of the Village Players has long depended on the love of theater and the hard work of its volunteer members.”
