The Townsend Hotel placed No. 7 on this year’s Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, in the Top 20 Hotels in the United States, Midwest Region category — up four spots from the previous 2018 ratings.
The global travel survey is marking its 32nd year. More than 600,000 individual voters offer data and comments about hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines and more. This survey contains more than 30,000 global travel listings, including over 7,000 hotels and resorts.
“We have had another amazing year and I am extremely proud of the team here at The Townsend Hotel,” said Steven Kalczynski, managing director of The Townsend. “Every staff member is passionate and relentless in their attention to details and know the importance of creating personalized experiences and exceeding expectations for each and every guest.
“I am very thankful and humbled on their focus and dedication. Our success for our future will be continued focus in the details. Our sophistication and success comes from the perfect balance of tradition, consistency and in creating personalized experiences.”
The average median age of Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards voter has dropped from readers in their late 60s to now, those in their late 30s. This has been propelled by the fact that more and more people in their 20s and 30s are sharing their travel experiences across social media platforms, in online forums and in the Readers’ Choice Awards survey.
The 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards will be celebrated in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler US and UK print additions. The main Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards web page is: www.cntraveller.com/rca.
