Preparing Medical Students for COVID-19 Fight, Oakland University Develops New Class

Excerpt: Three professors at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine are teaching a new two-week class to prepare medical students for the realities of working in a health care system overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dwayne Baxa, Ph.D., assistant professor of microbiology, Claudio Cortes, Ph.D., assistant professor of immunology, and Kyeorda Kemp, Ph.D., assistant professor of immunology, developed the graduate seminar course in just seven days.
