Baker College Online has been named a 2015 Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine, a premier publication for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. Baker College has been included in the magazine’s list of Military Friendly schools every year since it was first published in 2010.
The designation recognizes the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that exhibit leading practices to support military students.
“Baker College places a priority on meeting the unique, higher education needs of individuals with military experience,” said Airman 1st Class Christy Brasfield, Baker College Online military education officer. “Counsel from admissions advisors and veteran-certifying officials who are current on veteran- and military-related issues and benefits such as reduced tuition help members of the armed forces access quality education that’s right for them.
“One of the greatest strengths of Baker College Online is that degree completion does not require a visit to a Baker College campus. This is especially important to active members of the military including those who are preparing to transition into civilian life.”
The 2015 Military Friendly Schools list was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 schools nationwide. Methodology, criteria and weighting for the list were developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board comprising educators from schools across the country.
G.I. Jobs is published by Victory Media, a veteran-owned business that has served the military community since 2001 and also publishes The Guide to Military Friendly Schools, Military Spouse and Vetrepreneur magazines. A full story and detailed list of Military Friendly Schools will be highlighted in the company’s annual publications.
