After
spending 25 years at General Motors, and time as a teacher before that,
Marsha Hogerheide is finally realizing her dream and running her own
bakeshop. Wixom’s Buttercream Bakeshop is the destination for those with
a sweet-tooth. From truffles to 5-tier wedding cakes, owner Marsha
Hogerheide’s shop can satisfy any craving one might incur.
Hogerheide
has had the business for year since graduating from the Culinary Baking
and Pastry program at the Michigan Institute of Arts in Novi. She,
along with two other grads from the program, stay busy with weddings,
birthdays and other special occasions.

Marsha
Hogerheide, owner and operator of the bakeshop, says her 45-minute
daily drive from Grand Blanc, where she lives with her husband and the
younger of her two sons, is more than worth it. Her passion about the
business, and customers light up her face when she talks about the
