It's that time of year again: fall is in full "bloom" and Halloween is looming right around the corner! Every year Oakland County Moms puts together an exhaustive list of activities and events to celebrate this spookiest of seasons with your little ghouls and goblins. With permission, Oakland County Prosper has highlighted a few of these events happening throughout Oakland County over the next two weeks, but be sure to visit the Oakland County Moms website for their complete listing of events, and sign up for their free newsletter so you can stay up-to-date on all the family-friendly happenings around the county and beyond!

Halloween Science
Cranbrook Institute of Science, Bloomfield Hills
Halloween Science is the Institute’s most popular annual event. Join wizards, scientists, and explorers as they investigate the science behind the spooky through demonstrations, interactive activities, and more. Each event features all ages, not-too-scary experiences, and costumes are strongly encouraged.

Brick or Treat at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan

Annual Great Pumpkin Hunt
Indian Springs Metropark, White Lake

Pick Your Pumpkin Hayrides
Kensington Metropark, Milford

Starting at noon, Main Street Franklin will host a family activity day which includes a kids costume parade, trick or treating, pumpkin roll, kids games, and more.
 
Pumpkin Fest
Red Oaks Nature Center, Madison Heights
This is an action-packed afternoon with pumpkin carving for the whole family! Get in the autumn spirit with creepy animal nature talks, cider and donuts, crafts and fun fall nature hikes. 8/child, $2/adult. Noon-4pm.
 
Great Pumpkin Festival
Maybury Farm, Northville

Under the Big Top Spooktacular Open House
Franklin Athletic Club, Southfield
Dance party, costume parade and contest, candy giveaways, face painting, characters dressed as princesses and super heroes will be visiting with the kids, inflatables, karaoke, the Detroit Pistons Flight Crew, a haunted walk, gourd decorating, a fun fortune teller, zombie hospital, an exotic animal show, and some not so spooky Halloween fun! Trick or Treating in Downtown Rochester
Rochester
From 3:30-5pm, the streets of Rochester will come to life with little ghouls and goblins. Children will enjoy trick-or-treating at downtown merchants. A costume parade follows the trick-or-treating at 5:15pm.
 
Halloween Hayrides
Drayton Plains Nature Center, Waterford

Trick or Treat Among The Trees
Troy Nature Center, Troy
A fun and friendly outdoor celebration for kids ages 3-9. Costumed kids are welcome to hike the woodland pumpkin trail with a SNC guide. Children will learn the secrets of the forest and receive treats and meet costumed characters. Fee is $13. Call 248-688-9703 to register. 2-5pm.
 
Halloween Hoot
Beverly Park, Beverly Hills
Gut pumpkins from 10am-noon, Pumpkin Carving from noon-2pm (for the first 200 children), and Trick or Treat from 6-8pm. Trick or Treat Trail
Clawson City Park, Clawson

Lake Orion Halloween Parade
Ehman Center, Lake Orion
Children of all ages are invited to wear their costumes and walk in the parade through historic downtown Lake Orion. The parade line up will begin at 5:45pm at the corner of Lapeer & Elizabeth Streets, across from the Ehman Center. The Halloween parade will begin promptly at 6pm. The parade will travel south on Broadway Street through downtown and end at Children’s Park. After the Halloween parade, children can Trick-or-Treat through downtown Lake Orion. Witchypoo Review
Oakland Mall, Troy
Dance and sing along with Witchypoo and all of her Halloween friends in a musical spooktacular. Each performance will be followed by a brief meet & greet. This is a free event – no ticket required. Arrive early for best viewing. Limited seating available. Costumes welcome. Trick-or-treating will not be available at this event.

Fun on the Farm Halloween Party
Kensington Metropark, Milford
This program is especially for the little ones with story time, a craft and an activity. It’s time for toddlers to “trick or treat” all around the farm. Play a Halloween game or two, visit a “haunted” barn and you can even take your picture with our own friendly Jack O’ Lantern. This special spooky party even includes an animal parade. RARA Boo Bash

Ghosts are the theme, lets see what you can do with a white sheet! Prizes for best dressed. Trunk or treat in the parking lot, cider and donuts along the Clinton River Trail, the Spooky Playscape, a take home craft, and a Halloween movie in the fieldhouse. Mystery Dinner at Meadow Brook Hall

An engaging evening of murder, mystery and mayhem at Meadow Brook. This fun event includes a three-course meal, cocktails and a chance to solve the mystery. Guests are encouraged to come in costume. “Boo”tastic Fun

Head to Downtown Ferndale all day Saturday for trick-or-treating for costumed kids and their parents.
 
Trick or Trees
Red Oaks Nature Center, Madison Heights
Enjoy an evening of trick-or-treating at George Suarez Friendship Woods! The short, wooded Trick or Trees Trail will be lined with local vendors and costumed friends passing out candy and other goodies. Everyone is invited to come dressed in a favorite family-friendly costume. Please bring a bag for each child to collect treats. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and meet familiar Halloween characters! $5/child. 5-8pm.

Fall Family Fun Fest

Downtown Royal Oak Spooktacular and Trick or Treating
Downtown Royal Oak
Trick-or-treat at over 80 downtown businesses and enjoy special activities, coupons and fun! Inflatable slide and obstacle course, free arts and crafts projects, live music and a touch-a- truck area where kids can explore fire engines, police cars, work trucks and more. 1-4pm.

Trick or Treat Trail
Marshbank Park, West Bloomfield
Trick or Treat on a safe and friendly 1/2 mile paved trail. Collect goodies from costumed characters, local businesses and organizations. Pre-register is encouraged. This event sells out. Birmingham Pumpkin Patch & Halloween Parade

The Pumpkin Patch is an afternoon for families to partake in Halloween activities and games starting at 1pm. Afterwards, families march in costume in the Pumpkin Patch Parade at 4pm. There is also a Spooky Halloween Magic Show at the Baldwin Public Library from 3-3:45pm: Gordon Russ the Magician will present his special Spooky Magic Halloween Show. Halloween Boo Bash

Everyone remembers what it was like to dress up and trick or treat. Today, it’s about finding a safe haven to take the kids where they are surrounded by community members, fun and great activities. The annual Halloween Boo Bash is an opportunity to come in out of the elements, play games, pose for pictures in the picture booth, snack, and have family fun, safely. This is an outdoor event.
